• Lemon and orange peels: against bad breath

• Artichokes: the leaves for a detox effect

Rich in fiber and vitamins, the artichoke has good antioxidant power. Before each meal, an infusion of the leaves helps relieve stomach aches and bloating. Warning! An artichoke cure should not exceed fifteen days, and is not suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

• Citrus zest: to lower cholesterol

The zest contains flavonoids, trace elements (zinc, copper and selenium) and vitamins (A, C and E).

Our recipe. Blended without a smoothie and drunk on an empty stomach, lemon peel cleanses the body. In infusion, it promotes sleep.

• Cherries: tails for thinness

In infusion, cherry stems relieve urinary tract, intestinal and joint infections. They are also draining and diuretic.

Our recipe. Dip a handful of cherry stems in 1 liter of water, let steep overnight. Bring to the boil 4 min, let infuse 20 min off the heat. Filter and keep cool. In high doses, cherry stems can cause diarrhea.

• Garlic peels: for their antioxidant power

The peels contain more nutrients than the garlic itself. Quercitrins, plant minerals, have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties.

Our recipe. Throw the peels in a broth, remove them before drinking the infusion.

• Turnip greens: for vitamin A

Turnip greens are a source of vitamin A, a nutrient that plays a role in maintaining good eyesight. They also contain folate, iron and magnesium.

Our recipe. Make a soup with the tops, it's delicious!

• Beets: the leaves for the sight

Cooked or raw in a salad, beet leaves are rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, pigments that would strengthen our eye health.

• Squash: the seeds against fatigue

Rich in iron and magnesium, pumpkin seeds help fight fatigue and act against stress. They have diuretic and laxative properties.

Our recipe. Clean the seeds, then roast them in a pan.

• Avocados: for a radiant face

Rich in vitamin A and E, avocado helps reduce spots and repairs damaged skin.

Our recipe. Leave the skin on the inside for 10 minutes on the face, then rinse with water. This reduces the appearance of spots and wrinkles.

• Beware of toxic waste!

Choose organic products so that they are free of chemicals.

- Rinse them well. Even better: let them marinate in a water base with a little baking soda fifteen minutes before.

- Beware of tomato and rhubarb leaves, potentially toxic!

- Also beware of cherry pits, plums and apricot kernels. ANSES has warned against regular ingestion of these nuclei. They contain amygdalin, a substance that turns into cyanide in the intestine
